Plan packaging and vehicle together
Check early whether the original box and shaped inserts are available and undamaged. An arbitrary large carton does not automatically provide equivalent support. Measure the television when packed and establish whether it can be secured in the intended position in the vehicle. If it fits only flat beneath other belongings, reconsider the transport plan. Another vehicle or a suitably equipped provider may be the more practical answer.
Disconnect before lifting
Remove connections and label cables. Follow the relevant instructions when taking a television off a wall mount, with enough suitable assistance for large models. Do not lift by a thin screen edge or press on the panel. Keep the remote, feet and fittings separately labelled. Photograph which parts belong together before similar pieces become mixed. A cable still attached during lifting can put force on its socket.
Support and restrain it upright
Packaging should support the television at appropriate load-bearing areas. Soft covering protects surfaces but cannot replace a stable structure or restraint against tipping. Put nothing on the top edge and keep heavy boxes away from the screen side. Restraints must not apply uncontrolled pressure to the device. Agree the securing method with whoever is responsible for transport rather than wedging the television tightly between furniture.
Prepare the installation area
Clear the intended location before unpacking at the destination. Check that all feet or mounting components are present before leaving the television standing without a proper support. Installation must suit both the device and the surface; improvised fixings do not save time safely. Follow the device guidance on temperature and moisture before switching it on. Keep the packaging until setup is complete in case its location changes.
